Best betting apps shortlist
Bet365 – Score = 4.9
Our scoring system places bet365 as number one in our best betting apps list. It scores well across all areas, proving to us that it is packed with great features and reliability.
Bet365 have been working hard over the years on innovating, whilst learning from those around them to provide an app that suits anyone looking to have a flutter from their mobile device.
Recent new features such as partial cash-out and the ability to edit your bet after placing it have put them one step ahead of their rivals in our opinion. We found the bet365app to be available across all major mobile operating systems such as Android, iOS, Blackberry and Windows mobile.
William Hill – Score = 4.8
The second best betting app according to our scoring system was William Hill. Another company we are sure you have heard of previously here providing a great looking app that is very easy to get along with.
The design here is great with logical menu systems that make navigating where you want to go to one of the quickest available. The daily lists are a godsend for those people who like to place a big accumulator on a Saturday and the in-play section makes placing those last minute bets less stressful.
William Hill also hold unique offers currently that provide extra value to your normal everyday betting. Too may betting companies seem to focus their offers on getting you to try something new or to spend a little but more than what you would normally. Not with William Hill. They look at providing offers that hold benefit to the majority rather than the minority and they do this well.
These offers are ever changing so it’s worthwhile checking in on the latest daily promotions but we really like the accumulator insurance that is on offer as well as the daily odds boosts on popular markets.
Betfair – Score = 4.7
The betfair app is another great choice and holds a well-deserved place in our best betting apps list. Betfair are constantly churning out big new customer offers but they also offer a great betting experience once you are signed up and registered.
One unique card betfair have up their sleeve is their betfair exchange app. This is by the far the best exchange-betting app available. The exchange app allows you to place or lay bets as you see fit. This is different to the betfair sports book app where you only have the ability to place bets. This provides a whole new element to your betting and is preferred by many to the regular sports book app. If you are unfamiliar with exchange betting and want to see what it is all about then we would highly recommend checking out the betfair exchange app.
Both the sports book and the exchange app continually have offers on for existing customers and standard odds are always strong as well when comparing them to the competition, especially when betting on English football.
Betfair were shown to be best odds on all four top English Leagues throughout 2017 and we don’t intend on them slowing down the pace any time soon. They seem very proud of this fact and now strive to maintain that same standard of service.
BetVictor – Score = 4.7
The BetVictor app is one of the slickest apps in our best betting apps list. It boasts a dark, yet striking theme with a degree of simplicity that makes it stand out visually.
The BetVictor app is also one of very few apps that have an integrated casino attached. If you do like to switch between sports and casino on a regular basis this will certainly be the best betting app for you! No needing to close the sports app down to open the casino app here. The casino games have been built in to the sports app so you can place bets on the football and take a quick spin on the roulette table seamlessly.
BetVictor seem to hold a ‘no nonsense’ attitude towards betting making their offerings very simple and clear. You are not showered with offers here there and everywhere, but the offers that are available seem to offer good value.
There are always daily bet boosts to take advantage of and offer best odds guaranteed on horse racing. On top of that BetVictor is another name renowned for their strong standard odds offerings so you can be sure here you are not going to be too far off top price
Paddy Power – Score = 4.7
The Paddy Power app is arguably one of the best betting apps for horse racing fans. Their exclusive partnership with the Racing Post means that you get all the odds, stats, news and gossip (from credible sources) all in one place.
Their offers are always rewarding and spread across many sports. You will find daily offers on specific races, football matches and events as well as loyalty offers that reward you for continuing to use the Paddy Power services.
Paddy Power are well known for the humorous marketing campaigns, but certainly take their betting services seriously. They have built a sturdy app that holds up well across all devices and mobile platforms, that is both secure and reliable.
The help centre within the Paddy power app is great if you do ever get stuck. There is a self service approach here with may frequently asked questions or queries already answered on screen but there are also fast methods of contacting a customer service agent if you ever need to.
All in all, the Paddy Power app gets a well-deserved place in our best betting apps list. It has a lot to offer and well worth checking out.
Coral – Score = 4.7
The coral app is probably the best betting app for special offers and bonuses. Historically Coral would lure you in with a massive new customer offer and then leave you hanging high and dry once they had hooked you. Not any more. The crazy new customer offers remain, but they have now certainly changed their stance on how they look after their existing customer base.
Coral have shown recently ingenuity in their offers, yet at the same time to not be afraid to mimic competitors’ offers if they see a positive response from them. There’s a dedicated ‘promos’ section where you can find all of the live promotions available and this section is always stacked with boosts and specials across various different sports/markets. We find ourselves checking in here quite regularly.
The Coral app holds all the major features you would expect to find in a betting app these days such as cash-out, in-play and live streaming (certain territories only), as well as side apps such as casino, Poker, Bingo, Games, Slots etc. All are accessible from the one account.
You’re probably not going to consistently end up with best odds on the market here with Coral’s standard offerings, but they certainly make up for it with the offers they are churning out currently. Choose your bets wisely and timely here and you can bag yourself a fair bit a value. The Coral app gets a thumbs up from us.

Ladbrokes – Score = 4.7
The Ladbrokes app packs a punch across all areas landing it with a very respectable score and well within the best betting apps classification threshold. There’s nothing outlandishly unique here, but what you do get is a trusted name within the gambling industry with years and years of experience.
Rather than being industry leaders Ladbrokes have been somewhat industry followers when it comes to the online world of gambling. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Although Ladbrokes aren’t the first to launch groundbreaking features, they have a habit of taking other brand’s feature ideas and then building on them to make for a more enhanced experience. Past examples here would be features such as accumulator insurance and the ability to request prices on personalised bets through Twitter.
Another example would be the fact Ladbrokes offers an exchange betting service One of the very few bookmakers that do. The Exchange service was set up to rival betfair’s exchange system. Our personal opinion is that it didn’t quite manage to achieve this. That said the Ladbrokes exchange functions as it should and offers the ability to lay bets as well as back. The fact that Ladbrokes even attempted to offer this service, when many others have refused gives them great Kudos in our eyes.
The Ladbrokes app is available across all popular mobile operating systems and can be found in the app store and Play store. It’s free to register and download, as is the case with most betting apps and one we would recommend you consider installing.
18+. New customers only. Promo code ‘F50’ required. Certain deposit methods excluded. Min £/€5 on win or each-way bet excluding Tote or pools = match max £/€50 free bet. Min odds 1/2 (1.5). Bet must be made within 14 days. Free bet valid for 4 days. Free bet stake not returned. Single bets only. Free bet cannot be used on certain markets. T&Cs apply.
888Sport – Score = 4.7
The 888Sport app is the best betting app for the casual gambler, in our opinion. The bright orange branding makes the app stand out visually and the big bold text used makes information clear to understand. The simple menu systems also means that you don’t have to be a regular user to know how to get to where you want to be in a timely fashion.
There’s a sufficient level of markets and sports available here without overcrowding you with too many options and building a big weekend accumulator is a simple common sense exercise, with leagues and races set out in a user-friendly format.
Another reason we rate this as one of the best betting apps for the casual gambler is the inbuilt bet calculator. This allows you enter pretty much any permutation of selections as you see fit. Enter the odds for each selection and the tool will calculate your returns.
888 also have on board a very impressive casino, games and poker offering. These are found within separate apps and contain the familiar large font and bold colouring system, which again provides easy navigation and a pleasant experience on the eye.
Betway – Score = 4.7
We have rated the Betway app as one of the best betting apps for fast bets and quick cash outs. Their ‘Quickbet’ system means that you can place singles without even having to add the selections to your bet slip, making it a perfect option for those last minute in-play bets.
iOS users also benefit with a handy cashout widget that is attached to the Betway app. widgets can be accessed by swiping left from the home screen. Enable the Betway widget and you will now have the ability to cash out your bets without even having to access the app.
Aside from being lightning quick for bet placements, the Betway app performed well across all areas. It has a clean, traditional look about it and has plenty to offer in terms of choice.
You’re not likely to be blown away by the promotions and bonuses on offer by Betway but they do exist and rewards are available for continual play. Their standard odds offering was found to be reasonable when compared against other betting companies on horse racing and football events.
Betway are relatively new and have stepped their way to the top to nestle nicely with the big boys in the best betting apps classification. This has shown in their recent increase in TV advertising as well as the obvious investment in recent improvements made to their betting app. Not a name that may immediately come to mind when thinking of betting, but certainly worth checking out in our opinion.
Betfred – Score = 4.6
Betfred undeniably have a brand that has stood the test of time. Offering betting services since the sixties, Betfred certainly have the industry knowledge and have shown the innovation to keep up with their online competition with the Betfred app.
We regard the Betfred app as the best betting app for football coupons, as well as the best betting app for tote betting. There’s a large range of coupons and totepools to pick from that takes the hassle out of placing multiple selections across a specific day or race meeting.
We also find betfred to be extremely competitive in terms of price and navigation is a breeze thanks to its simple menu layout.
Cash-out options and live streaming are present here. Probably not the best in the marketplace but they are covered and covered to a more than acceptable standard, in our opinion. A trustworthy name with solid performance, the Betfred app is certainly one to consider as far as we are concerned.
Unibet – Score = 4.6
We find the Unibet app to be one of the best betting apps for sports choice. If you were looking for an obscure sport or pastime to bet on, then we would recommend checking here first. We have witnessed markets available on Pool, Trotting, floorball, Bandy, chess, surfing, Pesapollo and many others that you will not find on other betting apps.
On top of good options for sports, there’s also plenty choice in terms of markets within the sports. We also like the in-play section which is very clear and punchy, allowing you to place bets quickly and confidently.
With Unibet also recently announcing that they are looking to put their full attention in to the Unibet Brand whilst winding down the Stan James brand (which they also own) we have full confidence that there only better things to come. Worth checking out now in our opinion, but certainly one to keep an eye on in the future.
10bet – Score = 4.6
10bet are fairly new to the betting scene but have not wasted any time in bringing together a top quality betting app that rivals the best betting apps in the marketplace.
Their choice of a dark, bold yet vibrant theme brings about an arcade-style element to your betting that we really like. There are unique quirky logos used that are good to look at and clear in directing you to where you want to go and the betting slip process follows a logical path and is quick to access when needed.
Because of the fact 10bet are relatively new, we have noticed that they have been pushing lots of promotions that offer very good value in an attempt to get their brand noticed and their name recognised. To some extent this has worked and we have certainly reaped the rewards of some of their latest promotions.
You can check all of 10bet’s latest promotions from their app, which is available from the button above.
