Bingo app reviews

Here are some more details on what you can find on each of the apps in our top list. If you are looking for apps that cover sports betting as well as bingo please see our UK sports betting app list

Ranked 1 - Mecca Bingo App - Best for Android

Mecca Bingo is one of the most well-known names in the UK bingo market. They have bingo halls across the country. Their vast wealth of experience shines through in their bingo app and it is no surprise to see it at the top of our list.

The Android version excels, it has clocked up over 100,000 downloads on the Google Play store at the time of writing, one of the most from any UK bingo operator.

Here are our highlights from testing the app –

  • An excellent number of bingo rooms to join, games were always starting and had good numbers of players in them
  • Fun chat rooms with a friendly bunch
  • Good choice of slots and side games
  • iPad – Play in up to 4 rooms at the same time from your own bingo lobby – the ultimate way to play!

You can read our full guide to the Mecca bingo app here

Here is the app in action (Filmed on iPad) where we get a full house on turbo bingo. Please note you will need to be logged in to YouTube and over 18 to watch the video as it displays real money gambling.

Turbo bingo is a really quick way to get bingo games played. Its played at full speed and has a shorter time in the lobby before the game restarts.

Overall we were really impressed with the Mecca bingo app and are happy to have it as our recommended bingo app.

Ranked 2 – bet365 Bingo App – Best for iPhone

bet365 bingo

As a name synonymous with sports betting, bet365 may be a surprise inclusion at the top end of the list to some. However, their bingo platform is fantastic and we have been very impressed with the app during our testing.

Here is what we thought of the app

  • We found tickets on the app started at just 1p!
  • Features to show when you had 1TG & 2TD (Depending on device)
  • Range of slots including jackpot games, some titles are also available on the casino app
  • There was a loyalty point system on offer – see the app for the latest details of this

The iPhone version was particularly impressive with simple face ID login and an easy to use format. The app was packed with numerous bingo rooms which all had a chat room. There were more slots games built-in than we could count, including some inserting looking games.

The bet365 bingo app is a clear leader in our iPhone and iPad rankings.

Ranked 3 – William Hill bingo app – Best for reliability

William Hill has a solid and reliable bingo app. This is part of a suite of apps for iPhone and Android including their betting app, casino app, vegas app, and poker app.

What we found (and liked) on the William Hill bingo app

  • Simple to use interface, get straight into the bingo rooms as soon as you open the app
  • Face ID and fingerprint login – device-specific option
  • Over 120 slots games on the app, including big-named progressive jackpots
  • Bingo rooms exclusive to William Hill – Day at the races room and Bingo bowl room
  • Friendly people in the chat rooms

The app has a really good choice of rooms to play in. When we were testing there was 12 90 ball bingo rooms, 3 80 ball bingo rooms, and 1 75 ball bingo rooms. This gives you a good choice of rooms to play in and options to switch between formats. We mainly played in the 90-ball rooms like 90 ball deal or no deal bingo is our favourite game to play. It’s a great mix of bingo along with the excitement of seeing if they (or hopefully us) take the box and win big!

Ranked 4 – Paddy Power bingo app – Best for chat rooms

Paddy Power is the cheeky bookmaker that loves to shock and surprise. It may surprise you to find what a quality bingo app they have! The app is complete and alone and you can register for bingo directly below. You do not need to ever use the sports app that you will find on the app store!

What we liked when reviewing Paddy Power bingo

  • Excellent chat rooms and community games, a friendly feels
  • You can have 10 days in the newbie room when you first enter, a great place to find your feet with the app
  • Well known bingo games such as Deal or No Deal bingo (A favourite of ours)
  • Lots of side games and slots to play on
  • A good choice of bingo rooms covering 90 ball, 80 ball and 75 ball bingo

Whilst Paddy Power may be a bigger name in sports betting the bingo app is well worth considering. It runs on the popular Playtech bingo software so you may be familiar with it from other apps on the same build.

Overall this is a good bingo app.

Playing Bingo: The Ulitmate Guide

Here is everything you need to know about playing bingo!

Game Fairness

We check all the apps we review for live certificates gained from industry regulatory bodies. It is the job of these bodies to periodically test apps to ensure that is working in a true and honest fashion. If an app holds one of these certificates (eg. eCOGRA for the UK market). It is safe to assume that we are playing in a fair environment. We only cover apps that have such a certificate.

App Security

Bingo apps security requirements

How these companies hold personal data should also be considered. This is not one of the more instinctive factors that initially springs to mind. However, this should be considered from the off to make sure your details are being dealt with in a fashion you are satisfied with.

Each bingo company we cover will clearly identify its privacy policy. This information again should be accessible from within the footer of the bingo company’s mobile website.

Here you should be able to find out how your data will be held and for what purpose. There will also be a degree of flexibility here in terms of who your data is shared with, based on your personal preference. So be on the lookout for tick boxes throughout the registration process.

If there are any, be sure to fully read and understand whether you need to tick or not tick the box to correctly select your preference. Typical tick box situations allow users to opt-in or out of;

  1. Communications of news and promotions from the actual bingo company you are registering with.
  2. Being contacted by other companies within the umbrella of the said bingo company.
  3. Email/texts from select third-party groups.

You should also ensure that the mobile website sits on a secure server. If it does it will display HTTPS:// at the beginning of the URL and show a locked padlock symbol next to it. These types of sites encrypt the data coming from your browser to the website, preventing any outside eyes from intercepting the data in between.

Responsible Gambling For Bingo

We will not rate any bingo company that does not clearly promote responsible gaming.

This can come in several forms. But as a bare minimum, the company should be linking out to gambling support companies such as BeGambleAware. There should also be tools attached to the bingo app to help users stay in control. These can be;

  • Time limits
  • Self-exclusion
  • Temporary time-outs
  • Deposit restrictions

A worthy and reputable company should be offering all of these support services to its customers. If not I would largely question the integrity and driving force behind the company’s overall strategy. We would not recommend any companies that do not have some of these in place.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best bingo app?

In the UK we have rated the Mecca bingo app as the best for all players.

Are real money bingo apps safe to use?

Yes, all the apps we feature on this page are up to the latest standards in mobile and app security. They are all licensed by the UK gambling association.

What is the difference between mobile bingo and a downloaded app?

In general, there is not much difference in terms of design and performance (and offers). The downloaded app takes up some space and gives you a clearer view to play on. You are less likely to encounter bugs or accidentally close down an app.
