Betdaq Sportsbook app

Betdaq has been in the gambling industry for some time operating an exchange service to primarily rival Betfair but in more recent times Ladbrokes and others. They were one of the very few if the not only company to completely specialise in the betting exchange. Well, now they have made the decision to change that by launching the Betdaq sportsbook app to complement its exchange offering.

The Exchange app is essentially just a platform whereby users can lay bets for other players to bet on. Therefore users are betting against each other rather than actually accepting odds from the bookmaker.

This method is a little more technical than the traditional way of directly taking on the bookmaker. This is known as the sportsbook and this is the service Betdaq have recently launched.

How to get the Sportsbook app from Betdaq

Betdaq sportsbook app
This is a completely separate app rather than it being built in or alongside the Exchange app. As such you will need to head to the app store or Google Play store to download it.

There is also the option of visiting the Betdaq Sportsbook mobile site instead. This can be done from any mobile web browser.

Overall design

Those who are familiar with the exchange will see the original design shining through to the sportsbook app design. That standout purple that the Betdaq purple is ever-present in the menu systems.

In terms of layout – the app follows a theme that is easy to look at and get familiar with. A menu bar at the top and bottom of the screen allows for quick access to different categories and functions, with the main content being displayed in the centre.

The information displayed isn’t always the most spacious at times and I was prone to a few mis-taps every now and then. Not the best news to those people who have big fingers and small devices!

Choice

There’s a wide range of sports to bet on. 18 sports in total were offered throughout our testing. These were

  • Horse racing
  • Soccer
  • Greyhound Racing
  • Tennis
  • Golf
  • Cricket betting
  • American football
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Basketball
  • Ice Hockey
  • Baseball
  • Australian Rules
  • Boxing
  • Formula 1
  • MMA/UFC
  • Athletics

A good selection of markets within each particular sport can be found. Tap on a sport and you will find a list of available fixtures/events relevant. Tap on a single fixture or event and the user is then directed to all of the markets available for that game.

Placing a bet

Actually placing bets is logical and quick to perform once familiar with the layout. A quick-bet feature makes placing single bets lightning quick.

When making a selection, the quick-bet feature-box appears offering users the chance to simply enter a stake and then immediately place a bet on that selection, rather than adding it to the bet-slip.

Multiple bets

If a multiple bet is preferred, the user just needs to tap on the “add to bet-slip” button found in the quick-bet feature-box. The box will then disappear and the user will be back on the markets page, ready to make more selections.

Once all selections have been made, head to the bet-slip to then select the bet type desired and a stake amount before proceeding to place the bet.

Perm bets

Along with accumulators, perm bets and combination bets are also possible to place. These options can be found in the bet-slip. Relevant bet types automatically appear as and when the relevant amount of selections are added to the bet-slip.

Cash out

Cashing out seems to be an essential part of betting these days and as such you can be sure to find here. Impressively Betdaq have gone straight in offering full cash out and partial cash out. This means you can take a percentage of the cash out amount on offer, but also leave a percentage of the stake in to ride out.

Virtual sports

Fans of virtual sports can rest in the knowledge that this area is well covered in the Betdaq Sportsbook app. New races and mataches are available every three minutes and there’s a respectable amount of virtual sports to choose from – 5 in total throughout our tests:

  1. Horse racing (flats)
  2. Horse racing (jumps)
  3. Greyhound racing
  4. Football
  5. Speedway

Live streaming

Those who have an interest in horse racing or greyhound racing will be pleased to hear that live streaming is available. Tap on the main menu button and then tap on live streams to view a full schedule of applicable races.

In-play betting

Once a sport is selected, the top results shown will be the live or most recent upcoming games. If a game is live, in-play betting options will be available by tapping on the fixture.

Once entered, a visualisation appears at the top of the screen, detailing all of the action as it happens. All of the key stats are displayed to provide a more informed choice on the markets available to bet on. The visuals look great and the in-play markets were more than adequate.

Casino

A casino section has also been added to the Sportsbook app. All of the traditional table games and popular arcade titles are present. However there are not hundreds and hundreds of games to go at like some alternatives.

This didn’t particularly bother me. There was more than enough to keep me entertained in between placing bets and the race or match starting. It is a sportsbook app after all!

Promotions

Bonuses seemed to be plentiful with Betdaq. Well they were through our testing phase anyway. New customers and existing ones had promotions they could choose to get involved in.

There didn’t seem to be any particular focus or bias towards one particular sport either. There was a good spread of value available from the casino and slots to NFL, football and horse racing.

The dedicated promotions section found within the menu system also made it clear to understand just exactly what was available at that time. Well worth checking in on each time the app is visited, in my opinion.

Conclusion

The Betdaq Sportsbook app is a good addition to the Exchange app. The fixed odds format is the more preferred way of betting and another credible name in that marketplace can only help to keep odds competitive and bonuses valuable. Especially after most of the big-name bookmakers made significant mergers in the past couple of years.

The app looks good, is reliable through busy periods and serves well as an app to place bets quickly on. The prices on offer weren’t the very best available but were well within the industry average. Promotions and bonuses on offer also provide extra value.

This experienced bookmaker, yet new player in the fixed odds world has had a very good introduction in to the market place. The Betdaq sportsbook app certainly isn’t a fully polished product just yet. Future updates are bound to be implemented, bringing with it more sports, features and casino options.

The app comes recommended from me as one that can be trusted and one that is robust and efficient in placing bets. Give it a try and feel free to let us and our followers know your thoughts by getting in touch on Twitter.
