Welcome to my Cheltenham day 2 tips blog. Another day packed full of fantastic horse racing action to wet the whistle and to provide plenty of opportunity to go to bed with more money in your pocket than what you had started with!
I secured a very nice profit on last year’s day 2 festival. There were some small wins on short favourites as well some big odds returns on each way winners. I am looking for the same again in 2019.
Read on down the page to find out where my money is on each race for day 2, as well as a few offers that might tickle your fancy. Check them out!
My Cheltenham day 2 tips page has been left as late as possible to try and give you the most accurate information. We are also updating the page as the news breaks to make sure all picks are still in the running.

Cheltenham day 2 tips justifications
Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle – 13:30
TO WIN – Battle Overdoyen – An unblemished record across all lifetime races is hard to ignore and has me believe holds a slight edge over the race favourite, Champ.
EACH WAY – Galvin – An excellent price for another horse with nothing but first place finishes. Hard to ignore in my opinion.
New customer offer. Place 5 x £10 or more bets to receive £20 in free bets. Repeat up to 5 times to receive maximum £100 bonus. Min odds 1/2 (1.5). Exchange bets excluded. T&Cs apply.
RSA Chase – 14:10
TO WIN – Delta Work – This horse heads up the field in terms of price favourites. Has shown to be a strong chase horse on good ground and distance should be no problem.
EACH WAY – Mister Malarky – A horse that has grown in confidence and has shown in recent races that it could be a real contender in this race.
Coral Cup 14:50
A wide open race this one with any number of horses capable of crossing the line first. Some good odds to be achieved due to the level of uncertainty here so Each Way bets may well be the way forward here rather than outright choices. As I have committed to an outright pick and Each Way pick throughout the festival, here are the selections I am going with.
TO WIN – Erick Le Rouge
EACH WAY – Canardier
New online customers only, min £10/€10 stake, win only, min odds 1/2, free bets paid as 3 X £10/€10, 30 day expiry, free bet/payment method/player/country restrictions apply. Full T&Cs apply.
Queen Mother Champion Chase – 15:30
TO WIN – Min – Altior rightfully goes out as clear favourite in this race. However the price is far too small and offers little value in my opinion. Min has the minerals to make this race a tight affair at the finish and could well have its nose in front.
EACH WAY – Gods Own – With this race pretty much being classed as a two horse race the each way bet is all about spotting the value for the third place spot. For me the value lies with Gods Own. I don’t hold out much hope for the To win part of the each way bet so the ‘to place’ markets may well be the way forward for this bet.

Cross Country Chase – 16:10
TO WIN – Josies Orders – This horse holds plenty of experience and has shown much greater form since the sixth place finish this horse received in this race last year. With the previous run and boost in morale, I’m putting my faith in this horse to do the business.
EACH WAY – Fact Of The Matter – A good price for a horse in good form and one that has proven it can finish first in good to soft conditions.
Fred Winter Handicap hurdle – 16:50
TO WIN – Chief Justice – Another wide open field here in all honesty. Therefore i’m looking for consistency in these juveniles to separate them from the other contenders. Chief Justice has shown a habit of finishing within the top two places frequently, leading me to believe this is the logical and sensible option.
EACH WAY – Cracker Factory – This horse also has form that reflects a price shorter than what is being offered currently, in my opinion. Cracker Factory has been made busy throughout the year and has impressed whilst being so.
Champion Bumper – 17:30
TO WIN – Envoi Allen – Second favourite here, but with more race experience than the overall favourite, Blue Sari.
EACH WAY – Flic Ou Voyou – A strong price being offered here by bet365 compared to other bookmakers and one that has grabbed my attention for an Each way bet. Thishorse looked good towards the back end of last year and questions are being asked whether that form can be carried across to the festival. At 33/1 I’m willing on having a small stake on it while I find out!
