Cheltenham Festival day 4

Cheltenham day 4 tipsThank you for visiting our Cheltenham day 4 tips blog. Here is where you will find all of our selections for the last day of this prestigious festival.

Plenty of value to be picked up in my opinion. I’ve looked at the form and re-watched previous races to compile my ‘to win’ and ‘each way’ selections for each race. (see our Each Way betting explained guide here)

Cheltenham day 4 tips 2019

 Triumph Hurdle – 13:30

TO WIN – QUEL DESTIN – This horse has come on leaps and bounds since Paul Nichols took it over. It has been unstoppable now since October and has a good a mount of runs, with an acceptable rest period too.

EACH WAY  – FRENCH MADE – A bit of an unknown, but that said it has done everything that has been expected of him so far. With a long odds Willie Mullins horse winning yesterday, I’m tempted here with odds of 50/1.

County  Hurdle – 14:10

TO WIN – CROOKS PEAK – Looked very good last time out at the beginning of the month at Newbury. I’m hoping the confidence gained from that run resonates in to this race.

EACH WAY – WE HAVE A DREAM – This French horse has come back from a rocky period and the last time it did this it went on a run of 5 back to back wins. A good price here, in my opinion.

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle – 14:50

TO WIN – BIRCHDALE – A Nicky Henderson horse with a 100% win record. Outright favourite for the race.

EACH WAY – STONEY MOUNTAIN – This horse isn’t a consistent winner, but is a consistent placer. Is usually there or there about come the finish line.

Cheltenham Gold Cup – 15:30

TO WIN – PRESENTING PERCY – Race favourite and with good reason. Has been in fine form and looks to be in tip-top condition leading up to the festival.

EACH WAY – DEFINITLY RED – Strong odds here for an each way bet I think. two firsts and a second place finish in its last three trips may well keep this horse up with the shorter priced ones.

Foxhunter Chase – 16:10

TO WIN – ROAD TO ROME – This horse has 7 back to back wins spanning back to November last year. Formidable form and has proven it can compete on good, soft and good to soft ground.

EACH WAY – JUST CAUSE – Just cause has been performing well since May last year with only first and second place finishes since then. A big price due to so many potential winners in this race, but one I am willing got take a risk on.

Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle – 16:50

TO WIN – WHATSWRONGWITHYOU – The only horse to come in to this race boasting back to back wins directly prior to the festival. Confidence can go a long way and I am hoping it has a major influence on this horse and race.

EACH WAY  – GINO TRAIL – A solid stayer whose record is flooded with top 3 finishes. An open race so there is always the option of the to place market if you think this horse has no chance of finishing first.

Grand Annual Chase – 17:30

TO WIN – PYM – This horse fits my criteria of previous performances and odds price. Offers much better value than the race favourites, in my opinion.

EACH WAY – DOCTOR DEX – The most consistent horse in the race and way down the field in terms of pricing. Certainly worth a small stakes each way bet in my eyes.

That is all of my bets for the last day of the festival. We hope you have enjoyed the festival as much as we have so far. It is looking to be one of the most open festivals for some time. However, I am optimistic that the festival as a whole will bring in some profit. Feel free to share your gut feelings and smart picks with us on twitter where we will keep you up to date on all the latest news before and throughout the festival.
