What to Know About the 2026 World Juniors
Location: Games will be played at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, the 3M Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Tournament Dates: December 26th, 2025 through January 5th, 2026
Tournament Format: The tournament starts with a two-group round robin stage. The top four teams from each group advance to the single-elimination playoff bracket. The bracket is played normally, with the winning teams advancing until the winner is decided.
How to Watch: TSN, TSN App and TSN.ca. with a French language feed on RDS (Réseau des sports). Some games may be live-streamed on IIHF.tv as well.
Relegation: Each group has 5 teams, which means 1 team from each group will not advance to the playoff bracket. Those 2 teams will play head-to-head, and the loser will be relegated to the IIHF lower junior division for the 2027 tournaments.
