What is DraftKings' GameScript?
In a copycat industry, DraftKings Sportsbook has often been an innovator in the way sports betting is done. DraftKings has done it again by adding a new way to build NFL bets, called GameScript.
DraftKings' SGPx was one of the first ways it revolutionized parlay betting, and GameScript may become the next. With GameScript, bettors can quickly and easily create a parlay (or choose straight bets) out of pre-selected markets based on what they think the flow of a game will be.
The term "game script" is a term thrown around a lot in football. Think of it as the expected storyline of the game. There are many factors in a game script, such as who’s likely to lead or trail, how that affects play-calling, and which stats are favored based on that projected momentum.
DraftKings GameScripts gives 5 options, including:
- High-Octane Offense
- Hot Out the Gate
- QB Heroics
- Blowout
- Defensive Battle
Do you think it's going to be a shootout? Select "High-Octane Offense," and choose from props that make sense for a shootout. DraftKings filters out all the props that don't fit your desired game script, taking some of the navigation out of your hands.
I think this feature is best used in a pinch, when you are running low on time to make a bet. Or, it can come in handy when you have a general idea of how the game will go, but aren't sure what props to take.
GameScript reminds me of stacks, where you are presented with a stack of bets to swipe left and right on to build a parlay. You have control, but are choosing from pre-selected markets. The main difference is, the bettor has an added element of control in what markets are presented.
How to Use DraftKings GameScript
Let's look at an example of how GameScript works!
GameScript is used for Same Game Parlays, so the first step is to select the game you are trying to bet on. Once you click on the game, select "GameScript" right next to the SGP Builder.
For this example, we are building a bet out of the 'QB Heroics' GameScript.
As it sounds, this tab contains props related to the quarterbacks performing well.
Props for this GameScript include:
- Passing Yards
- Passing TDs
- Passing Attempts / Completions
- Passing + Rushing Yards
- 1st Quarter/Half Yards
- Longest Completion
There are also more unique markets, such as matchups (which quarterback will have more yards) and combined totals (how many yards they will combine for).
GameScript helps you build a bet, but the process of placing it is the same. Make sure you select any eligible boosts/promos for your bet as well!

DraftKings GameScript FAQ
DraftKings’ GameScript is a new feature within its Same Game Parlay builder that helps bettors create parlays or straight bets based on how they think an NFL game will unfold. Each GameScript option, like High-Octane Offense, QB Heroics, or Defensive Battle, filters pre-selected props that fit that projected storyline, making it easier and faster to build bets aligned with your predicted game flow.
To use GameScript, select an NFL game in the DraftKings Sportsbook app and choose the GameScript tab next to the SGP Builder. From there, pick one of five themes that best match how you expect the game to play out. DraftKings will then show relevant props that fit that narrative. You can combine eligible picks into a Same Game Parlay or add others as straight bets, streamlining the process of building a bet that matches your predicted “game script.”
Currently, DraftKings only uses the GameScript feature for NFL betting. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see it expand across more sports, such as the NBA.
