How to Download Play Store Betting Apps

Downloading betting apps from the Play Store is pretty straightforward, but there are a few things to keep in mind when signing up and getting started with any new betting app. We'll walk you through the whole process of getting up and running with an Android betting app, making sure you claim the welcome bonus too!

1

Choose the Best Betting App

It probably goes without saying that you want to make sure your downloading and using the right betting app for you. Some factors to consider are the welcome bonus, features like same game parlays, payment methods, and availability.

Once you've decided, just hit one of the green buttons to get sent over to the betting site with your bonus already locked in!

2

Register Your Account

Once you've landed on the betting app site, it's time to set up your account and get registered.

This is a straightforward process, and you just need to provide some of the following details:

  • Email
  • Password
  • Full name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • Telephone
  • Last 4 digits of Social Security Number
  • Copy of government-issued ID

We usually recommend signing up before downloading the app because it streamlines the process of setting up your quick log-in, like fingerprint authentication, and helps you get going quicker.

3

Download from the Google Play Store

With a new account fully registered, the last thing to do it head over to the Play Store and search for your betting app of choice!

  • For example, search for 'PointsBet' and you'll be directed to the sports betting app.

Now all thats left is to hit the 'install' button, and log in when the download is complete.

Most betting apps even feature a direct link to the google play store right from the website, usually located right at the bottom of the page.

What if a betting app isn't on Google Play?

Fortunately this is not a common problem, as sportsbooks know featuring their betting apps on the Play Store is the easiest way to facilitate downloads. If you can't find the betting app you're looking for, it is generally one of these two reasons:

  • You need to download the APK
  • The developer has not built an Android app

Downloading a Sports Betting APK

The only difference here happens after you've set up your account and locked in that bonus.

We've used MaximBet as an example, but the process is nearly identical for other apps, though there are not many you'll need an APK for.

When on the betting app site, click download (usually right next to the App Store button).

Once the APK is downloaded, follow the below steps to successfully install:

  • Go to your downloads and select the file MaximBet.apk
  • When prompted, tap settings and check the "Unknown Sources" box
  • Return to your downloads and click install

Android Betting Apps not on the Play Store

Since mobile betting has really been optimised just as much for Android and iOS, you're not likely to run into this problem with any decent betting apps, but if for some reason you can only download the betting app on iOS, it's not the end of the world.

Obviously not the best solution as betting apps tend to run smoother when actually in a native app, but if you want quick access to a betting app not featured on the Google Play Store, just bookmark the webpage!

Sounds obvious right? But you can take this a step further and add a shortcut directly to your home screen.

  • Head to the betting page
  • Find and tap the three little dots (top right of the browser)
  • Select 'add to home screen'
  • Use the 'app'

A great part of using an android betting app is the opportunity to use Google Pay when wagering. Sadly there are not many sites that actually have this as a payment method, but if you're really interested in using Google Pay, check out these Android betting apps:

  • UniBet

Bet356 and betway have recently begun accepting Google Pay in other countries, so expect them to join this list soon.

Google Play Betting Apps FAQ

What is the Google Play gambling policy?

Since the start of March, 2021, Google has allowed developers to publish gambling apps on the Play Store. This came with some additional requirements for user safety and security:

  • App must comply with all applicable laws and industry standards for each country in which it is distributed
  • Developer must have a valid gambling license for each country or state/territory in which the app is distributed

Can I gamble with Google Play credit?

No. A stipulation in the Google policy regarding gambling apps is that the usual in-app billing system cannot be used by betting apps, which means that they all have their own individual payment system within the app. And due to regulations regarding money laundering, betting apps do not allow credit from Google Play cards and other similar products, payment methods must be linked to the. bettor to ensure safety and security.

Where to download apps other than the play store?

If you can't find the betting app you're looking for on the Play Store, you will simply need to download the APK directly from the sportsbook. This is how most betting sites in the US used to host their apps before the Google policy change, and is still totally safe and secure. We expect that all betting apps will be featured on the Play Store soon.

Is Google Play real money gambling allowed?

Yes! You are allowed to download betting apps and other gambling apps from the Play Store that use real money for wagers.
