One drawback I found was that not all bets were eligible to be parlayed together but users aren’t notified until they navigate to the bet slip. This created a lot of extra work to complete a custom same-game parlay.

Support Chat - There is an automated chat available if you are not finding answers to the questions within the help center. The first chat is automated and gives a curated list of categories to choose from but was not very intuitive. There is an option to talk to an agent that can sometimes take a short time to connect, but they can answer more specific questions better than the automated chat.

• BetRivers Sportsbook has an extensive betting market across 15 states with a robust selection of different sports and leagues for users to place wagers on. They also have a strong promotional offer for first users but it differs between states so users may not know exactly what they can get until they have navigated to the site or app.

• With the deep list of sports and betting options including live betting and same-game parlays, the app can be a little difficult to navigate for a new bettor. Some of the more relevant matchups are listed on the app's front page with a scrolling list of other popular sports across the top. If users don’t see the sport they are looking for there, they can click the ‘Browse’ option and see a full list of sports and sections for live betting & streaming, player props, and odds boosts called ‘House Specials.’

• I found it fairly intuitive for users to find the sport and click into the different options for the sport but I found it difficult for them to move backward out of those selections. If a user had selected the ‘MLB’ page to see all of the MLB bets and decided they wanted to return home, clicking the ‘Sportsbook’ tab at the bottom felt like the natural next step. However, to return home they would have to click a small link at the top of the page and essentially click the ‘back button’ until they returned to the home page. This link is too small and frustrating as I navigated from section to section.

• Overall I found the app easy to use and navigate once I had spent some time clicking around and understanding its nuances. However, I encountered some confusing user journey issues while exploring for the first time. The deep betting market and different user features are the bright spots of the BetRivers app. However, it will need to clean up some of the user experience issues for it to compete with some of the top sportsbooks like DraftKings and FanDuel.
